At that place isn't a button on the drive! And it isn't fifty-fifty under "This PC". Actually dislocated.

In Windows Explorer,

R-click the DVD bulldoze..

Select Squirt from the menu.

Nevermind its called File Explorer in Windows 8.1...no CD drive is fifty-fifty listed on there....

Then it has totally failed or it isn't plugged in.

How about some background here? Make/model, or did yous build it yourself? Has it always worked? Is the machine under warranty? Inquiring minds want to know.

Seems to me the operating system should have nothng to practice with whether or not your CD drive has a button.  My Win viii Toshiba Satellite's CD drive certainly does, though it'due south quite small and difficult to come across.

What is the make and model of computer. Are you sure it'south a CD or DVD bulldoze and not a cover. My neighbor has brand new HP that doesn't have a CD/DVD drive. It simply has USB ports. But one of the covers on the side looks like where a CD/DVD would be on an older laptop.
